In order to promote the participation of young people in the 2015 Summit on Philanthropic Culture, the Caisse d’économie solidaire Desjardins and Concordia University have joined forces to enable 25 committed young people to attend the event free of charge! Carried out in conjunction with Forces Avenir, a program designed to recognize and promote student commitment, this project will make it possible for 2015 college-and university-level Forces Avenir award winners to speak out on behalf of the up-and-coming generation during the Summit.

Participation à la Conférence canadienne pour l’avancement de l’éducation

On June 12, 2015, we had the pleasure of participating in the 2015 Canadian Conference for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) in Montreal, an annual event bringing together representatives of colleges and universities from across the country.

Our executive director, Romain Girard, delivered a speech presenting the Mallet Institute and highlighting the contribution of colleges and universities in the development of a culture of solidarity. Mr. Girard’s speech preceded the major address by Éric Weissman, Ph.D., who showed that by combining research and intervention, it is possible to strengthen capacities for action among the homeless and bring them closer to lender organizations and donors.

Please note that Mr. Weissman will be one of the panelists at the 2015 Summit, which will address the theme of identifying and building new needs, more specifically in the homelessness sector.
