Newsletter #12 – May 2015

On May 5, 2015, our second Solidarity and Engagement Forum took place, with the theme “Philanthropy and Corporate Commitment: Company Culture!” We wish to thank our moderator, François Lagarde, Vice-President of Communications at the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation, as well as our three panelists – Sophie Brochu, President and Chief Executive Officer at Gaz Métro; Professor Jacques Nantel, from HEC Montréal; and Stéphane Vaillancourt, President of Imagine Canada – for their exceptional contribution to the event.

You did not have the opportunity to watch the Forum? Please note that the Forum can be watched in full until May 29, 2015. A synthesis video clip is also available.

Furthermore, I am delighted to announce that the official program of the 2015 Summit on Philanthropic Culture will be unveiled in the coming weeks!

Be on the lookout for future newsletters, or follow us on Twitter or Facebook to stay informed.

Monette Malewski is honoured

We wish to congratulate Monette Malewski, a member of the Board of Directors of the Mallet Institute, for the award that she received on April 29, 2015.

Ms. Malewski won the “Inspiration – Andrée Corriveau” Award given by the Association of Quebec Women in Finance (AFFQ) during the organization’s tenth annual gala. Usually given to major banks, it is the first time that this award has honoured a person from the private sector.

In addition to being president of her company, Groupe M Bacal, Ms. Malewski is a true model of involvement in her community, sitting on numerous boards of directors of organizations in fields as diverse as politics, education, culture, humanitarianism and health.
